happy new year!


It is 10am on New Year's Day and I just got back from the gym. I was surprised that it was not very crowded.
Before I left, I had my husband take some "before" pictures of me in my workout clothes. Yikes! I tend to shy away from the camera, because of my weight. This year will be different!
I want my children to look back and remember that I was there. Looking back through family pictures, I am noticeably absent. I want them to remember that I was involved in all that they are doing and that we were having fun!
I also want to remember how much I have changed, because THIS year I am going to! So, I will post all of my before and after shots on this blog as I reach each milestone.

Do you make any New Year's resolutions? I haven't really done much with that these past few years. It is always in the back of my head that I want to change, but I just seem to be lazy about it. I do realize that goals are important, though. If you don't write it down where you can see it and make a plan to reach it, it will never get accomplished! So, here are some goals I have made for myself. Hopefully, this will help me to make a plan and accomplish my goals!

Long Term Goals
*To weigh 150lbs (my weight when I got married) or less :).
*To be active and healthy.

Short Term Goals
*Workout 4 times per week
*Stick to a healthy eating plan
*Keep up with this blog
*Train and run a 5K on February 27th with my family
*Celebrate my weight loss milestones of 199lbs and each 10lbs lost after that with something fun (not food related) like a pedicure, movie, family activity, etc.
